PokerHeaven Cash Game Begins Airing

Poker Channel Europe announced Thursday that it will begin airing episodes of the PokerHeaven European Cash Game Friday, Dec. 19.

The series covers several games that were filmed in London on Oct. 11. The invitation-only event pitted some of poker’s biggest personalities – including Albert Iverson, Neil Channing and 2008 WSOP Main Event champ, Peter Eastgate – against one another. The event’s €10,000-minimum buy-in was personally funded by each player.

CardRunner.com instructor Eric Liu walked away the tournament’s biggest winner, raking in €70,000. The win comes on the heels of Liu’s fourth-place finish in this year’s EPT and saw him rubbing shoulders with legendary player Iverson and German player Chris Haller, both of whom also made it to the winners circle. Eastgate and Channing both faired poorly at the table.

According to the Poker Channel’s press release, the event was conceived in response to an increased demand for televised cash games. The network will also begin airing an educational series on how to play cash games in tandem with the event coverage.

PokerHeaven episodes will air every Friday at 11 p.m. GMT on Sky Channel 166 and at 11 p.m. CET on CNBC Europe, ESPN Classic, NASN and Prima TV (in Romania). A preview of each episode will be available online at PokerChannelEurope.com one day before it debuts.
