PurePlay's Final Qualifying Winner to Play at WSOP Main Event
PurePlay, the largest U.S. compliant play-for-cash online poker site, announced today that it has completed the last of its 2008 World Series of Poker qualifying tournaments awarding a free seat to the upcoming Main Event in Las Vegas. PurePlay has launched a new round of $10,000 seat giveaways for the 2009 WSOP tournament.
The winner of PurePlay's final qualifying tournament for the Main Event is Barry Johnson of Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, in the United Kingdom. Clacton will join earlier PurePlay qualifying tournament winners at the World Championship of No Limit Texas Hold 'Em, which begins on July 3.
"I'm tremendously excited at the prospect of coming to the U.S. and competing in the world's biggest poker event," Johnson said. "Given that I've been playing for only two years, I'm amazed that I'm being given this opportunity to win millions without risking any of my own money."
